Moldy Bathtub Caulk Grout, Mouldy Tub Silicone, Zepp Mildew, Alcohol

So, here we have some silicone that was really, really got some black mould on it. I cut it out by, just by going one way and then the other on it, and then I pull it out by the strip, and that can go in the garbage. See, I’ve gone all the way around the tub. Now, I’ve got one more up here, that I’ve just got to cut out, and I don’t want to take that out totally but, because it’s not too bad up further, but I want to get the blackened stuff out of there, and it just fell off. Now, what I’ll do with that, after that, is I’ll just take my, take a sharp chisel, clean off all the extra black stuff there is, it shows up, and clean it. And I take a, I’ve already done this, but I take a bottle of mildew spray here, this happens to be Zep, and I spray the whole area that needs to be cleaned up, where the grout has turned yellow or a little bit dark, and I let that sit for a few minutes, it doesn’t have to be very long, and then wipe it off. There’s really strong bleach in that cleaner, so the grout turns a bit whiter, and it starts to be liveable again. And then, the trick of it all is to take Isopropyl alcohol, and put it on a bit of a rag, and then wipe it along here, where you’ve got the little bits of silicone left on. And the alcohol is what dissolves the silicone, and then you can let it dry. The alcohol dries a bit faster, so if you’ve got it a little bit wet from the mildew spray, and you wiped it off, and leave it for five minutes or something, and then come with the alcohol. And the alcohol seems to dry it up pretty good. And leave it for another five or ten minutes, and then we can caulk it with the silicone. Get a fresh silicone bead on, and everything feels good again. Everything looks good, and you feel, you don’t feel scared about the mould. I’ll show you after the silicone’s done. So, there it is, with a new bead of silicone in, on the floor too. All the way around, it doesn’t look so scary anymore. It looks nice and hygienic. Bathtub resilicone.
