How to Bathe, Change & Feed a Baby : Tips for Drying an Infant After a Bath

By Grover Koelpin 51 comments

Hi this is Vanessa and Andrew on behalf of
Expert Village and we are going to talk about drying your baby. So after your final rinse,
which you already had prepared, you are going to want to go ahead and take your baby onto
your towel. It can be a bit slippery so be sure you have their head really well supported.
Lay him on the towel. They like to be dry, warm and snug so snug them up real tight as
you are drying them. And with the end of the towel, make sure that you dry him really well
and all the little crevices and little places under their neck really well, under their
armpits and all those places where the skin folds. Make sure you dry that really well.
Then you put the diaper on so that you don’t have a messy baby after a good clean bath.
After your diaper you are going to want to put on lotion if you so choose and then new
clean clothes. Make sure they are dry and ready for a feeding or for sleeping or whatever
is next for your baby and that is drying your baby.

she's not rough, what do you expect her to do? let the baby kicked and kicked?! then she won't be able to dry him. babies are fragile but not that fragile. okay?

I'm 13. Of course the baby is going to cry, it will cry or fuss when your changing it's diaper or clothes. Sure she could have been more gentle, I would have used two towels. Lay pick up the kid with one and lay him down on it, and then dry him..

well, she should have been a little more careful with him, but that the baby is crying is not anything to get angry about! Its a baby, its what they do! He may be cold or hungry or many other tings. There is no need for a binkie, when you people have kids you might understand better, and before you do, don't judge!

why would he get made fun of ? he probaly wont remember any of it and in all reality who cares ? he was an infant at the time of this and there was nothing he could do about it.

If you need help drying a baby, then you should not be having babies. Thanks to "expert" village because this is a skill that is extremely difficult to master.

Isn't drying between babies' toes real good important too?

Like, if moisture is trapped in between tight corners with skin, can't the skin get peelable?

@MillymollysX She's holding him right, but it's not the only way you can hold a baby. Just because you're young, that doesn't mean you don't know anything about baby's. I'm young too, but my kids are doing just fine.

big open rooms are hard to control climate, not everybody lives in florida, make sure you DONT BREATHE hard while taking your baby out of the tub, -they feel cold- look for the baby's confort NOT YOURS, stand up, and get a cheap tall changing table so u can place the tub there, make sure you have more than ONE towel, and talk or sing to your baby, make this as nice as you can.. you dont want a clean miserable baby, let him enjoy this moment. not like this sloppy " expert" mom…
